Commonfolk Labs
Bengaluru, India

Software for the ordinary citizen.

We build tools that make everyday systems — language, courts, markets — legible to the people they actually affect.

What we build

Dani

ದನಿ

Real-time, two-way voice translation for ordinary phone calls. You speak your language, they hear theirs, in both directions — no app for the person on the other end to install.

Court Monitor

Karnataka High Court

Reads the court's own daily cause lists and turns them into a public dashboard — what was listed, what was actually heard, and where outcomes diverge between the state and everyone else. Public documents only.

Market Briefs

Indian equities

Daily plain-language briefs on the Indian market, built so every claim carries the number and the source it came from. Written for someone with a job, not a terminal.

How we build

Deterministic core

The facts come from parsing and arithmetic. Language models add explanation on top — never the substance. If the model is unavailable, the numbers still stand.

Public sources only

We read what is already published, and we read it without touching the systems that publish it. No scraping of live infrastructure, no private data.

Cheap enough to keep running

Built to run at near-zero cost on static delivery and scheduled jobs, so nothing depends on a funding round to stay online.

One source of truth

Web and mobile read the same generated output, so the two surfaces can never quietly disagree with each other.
